- Conducted economic analysis of rail and truck options for transporting coal between mine and water transport facilities for international coal sales companies;
- Developed and managed vessel discharge operations, which included fully laden vessels lightering to barge, and then reclaiming while alongside draft restricted port;
- Managed multi-coal product portfolio within terminal, including screening, blending, and inventory control procedures to ensure quality control;
- Conducted national coal terminal surveys to identify import growth opportunities for major international trading firms;
- Assisted Class 1 railroad in preparation for litigation regarding coal terminal lawsuit;
- Negotiated barge, vessel, rail, and terminal contracts for major international coal trading companies;
- Managed coal logistics chain for coal supplier including: vessel loading, delivery to terminal, and trucking to final destination;
- Developed rail cost estimates for South American mining company looking to build greenfield rail operation;
- Developed coal inventory management guidelines for bulk terminal which previously handled non carbon based bulk materials

- Developed and manage the US Coal Imports and Exports Conference with the McCloskey Group (UK), now in its 9th year
- Co-author of American Coal Imports 2015, a comprehensive analysis and forecast of coal imports for the 10 year period 2005-2015 (publish date September 2007)
